1. Refrigerator Won't Turn On (No Power)

If your refrigerator has suddenly gone completely dead—lights are off, fans aren't blowing, and the interior is warming up—it's experiencing a total power failure. First, check your outlet and circuit breaker. If those are working, the issue lies within the unit's internal circuitry. Faulty thermostats, defective overload switches, blown defrost timers, or damaged internal wiring can kill power to the whole unit. Our technicians can pinpoint the exact electrical component causing the shutdown and replace it safely.

2. Water Leaking on the Floor

Water pooling beneath or inside your unit is both a slip hazard and a threat to your flooring. The most frequent culprit is a clogged defrost drain line located at the back of the cabinet. When food particles or debris block this line, ice builds up, eventually melts, and overflows onto your floor. If clearing the drain line doesn't stop the leak, the issue may be a kinked, cracked, or loose water supply line connecting to your ice and water dispenser.

3. Fresh Food Section / Crisper Is Too Warm

Your fresh food section relies on cold air generated in the freezer. An evaporator fan pushes this frigid air into the fresh food compartment, while a damper diffuser regulates how much cold air enters. If your vegetables and fruits are spoiling because the area is too warm, either the diffuser duct is blocked with frost (often caused by a door left ajar) or the evaporator fan motor has failed and needs replacement.

4. Excessive Noise or Continuous Running

A refrigerator that runs non-stop or makes loud buzzing/clicking sounds isn't just annoying—it raises your monthly energy bill. Over-cycling often happens when the temperature is set unnecessarily low, or when dirty condenser coils prevent proper heat dissipation. Cleaning the coils usually solves the issue, but if the noise persists, a failing fan motor or a malfunctioning cold control thermostat may need to be replaced.

5. Freezer Is Not Cold Enough

When frozen foods start thawing or turning soft, your freezer isn't maintaining proper temperatures. First, check if you can hear the internal evaporator fan running. If the fan isn't blowing air, or if heavily clogged condenser coils are preventing heat release, the freezer won't freeze properly. Our technicians will inspect the fan assembly, defrost sensors, and coils to restore freezing temperatures.

6. Ice Dispenser Jammed or Not Dispensing

Ice dispensers rely on a motorized chute door (damper door) sealed with a tight gasket to keep warm room air out of the ice bin. If this door seal becomes dirty, warped, or stuck open, humid air enters the ice housing, causing heavy frost accumulation that jams the entire mechanism. Cleaning or replacing the damper door assembly and clearing the ice chute will restore smooth ice delivery.

7. Food Freezing in the Refrigerator Section

If your lettuce is freezing or milk is turning to ice, the temperature control system is malfunctioning. A faulty temperature sensor or stuck thermostat continuously signals the unit to cool without shutting off. A technician will test the thermostat, thermistors, and main control board using a multimeter to identify the faulty part and replace it.

8. Water Dispenser Stopped Working

If your fridge dispenser stops producing water, three main issues are usually at fault:

Frozen Water Supply Tube: If the water line running through the freezer door freezes shut, it must be thawed, and the freezer temperature adjusted slightly higher to prevent recurrence.
Low Household Water Pressure: The water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 PSI to open properly and allow water through.
Faulty Water Inlet Solenoid Valve: If water pressure is adequate but no water flows, the electronic inlet valve has likely failed and requires replacement.
